Our Overview
Established and duly registered under the laws of Zambia as a Research Institution No. 120220028103 the headquarters are in Lusaka with branches in Kitwe, Livingstone, Kasama, Mongu and Solwezi. We are a multidisciplinary center dedicated to advancing evidence-based policies, educational excellence, and sustainable development across Zambia and the broader region. Our work integrates rigorous research, applied innovation, and capacity strengthening to inform decision-making in education, science and technology, food security, and social policy.
Our Mission
Our mission is to generate reliable, policy-relevant knowledge and build institutional capacity that empowers government agencies, higher education institutions, and development partners to design and implement effective, equitable programs.
We are committed to transparency, scientific integrity, and inclusive engagement. Through open dissemination of findings, stakeholder consultations, and capacity-building workshops, we support evidence uptake at all levels—from community practitioners to national policymakers. Our vision is a knowledge-driven Zambia where robust research, strong institutions, and collaborative partnerships advance sustainable development, educational quality, and improved wellbeing for all.
Strategic Partnerships
Collaboration is central to our approach. We work closely with the Ministry of Education, the Higher Education Authority, universities and colleges, and the Ministry of Science and Technology to align research priorities with national needs. Our partnerships with UN-FAO, UNICEF, and UNDP, and the Association of Quality Assurance enhance our technical reach and ensure international standards and best practices are embedded in our work.
